New Life

Watching caterpillars transform into butterflies is amazing for both child and adult alike. Our entire family was fascinated by the process, but seeing the looks of wonder and the squeals of delight from my little ones made our science project even more enjoyable for momma. The kids named our caterpillars the following: Peter Mickey Mouse Wilson, Susan Clock Wilson, Edmund Police Bear Wilson, Lucy Light Bulb Wilson and Tumnus Shoulder Wilson.

Daily observation of our caterpillars reminded us how detailed our Creator is. God really thought of everything, and after a close study of nature, I don't see how anyone could deny His hand in the making of the universe. Although our five little pets looked alike, a close study could see how different and unique each were. When it came time to release the butterflies, a couple flew right off and others took their time to venture out. Lucy Light Bulb was especially reluctant to leave and needed extra encouragement. Isn't this just like some of us?

Our butterfly garden provided the perfect opportunity for so many good conversations, including a discussion on the new life we can all have through Christ. I highly recommend adding these temporary pets to your home. Inexpensive but also invaluable fun!
