Most years, wearing green is about the extent of my St. Patrick's Day celebration. Since last March 17th, my kids have had a grand time all year playing the pinching game. I can't tell you how many times I heard John's giggly voice say, "Oops! you don't have green on! Pinch!" Since their fun was normally playful and didn't escalate into a fight, I let it go. After all, I am glad they like to cut up and have a good time together.
I am also glad my daughter likes any excuse to celebrate! Apparently, Belle asked Hamilton what the next holiday was because she intended to throw mommy a party. When he told her St. Patrick's Day, she got right to work with a green theme! She solicited help from Grandma and tried to keep everything a secret from me since it was "Mommy's party." As instructed by her invitation, I showed up wearing green to hang out with family on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We also celebrated Nana's birthday, which is actually on St. Patrick's Day! Belle loves to party plan! I enjoyed seeing her handiwork around the fish house, including another of her infamous homemade pinatas. I am so "lucky" to have such a sweet gal!
