James' Third Month

With his eyes open more during his third month of life, James Edward made some interesting discoveries about himself and the world around him. He discovered God gave him fascinating hands and feet, a mind of his own, and loving siblings.

Since locating his hands and feet, he keeps himself entertained studying, playing, and talking to them. Every time he swings his feet up and grabs them with his hands, I flashback to Belle's babyhood. His looks and mannerisms often remind me of his big sister. At times, he reminds me of John too, especially when he energetically kicks his feet.

James thoroughly enjoyed playing on his activity mat this month, but he discovered he did not care much for the tummy time game. Every time he was put on his belly, he would quickly grow inconsolable, so I eventually just gave up torturing him. At first, I was a little concerned about him not reaching the milestones, but I decided I am content to keep my baby a baby! They grow up too fast, and I was told wearing him offers similar benefits for neck control anyway.

James really starting taking notice of his siblings this month. He enjoys watching them, even if their busyness can be a tad overstimulating at times. Poor baby got hit with a flying book and his arm stepped on in the span of a few days. He cried (a lot) but thankfully was not injured. His sibling are a little rough, but they love baby James to pieces. John has nicknamed his little brother "Jamesy-Pa-Poomsy-Pamsy," and loves to snuggle and shower him with smooches. As a result of his noises, Belle calls James her "Kitty meow," and she loves to sing and play with him. She was right proud of herself for creating a baby daycare and for putting mittens on him to prevent him from pulling her hair. James' siblings are eager to include him in their little world, and I think he already knows how much he is loved.
