As I listened to my husband point out small details about the animals to the kids, I was very glad we decided to make our last field trip a family event. The zoo was right up his alley; whereas I enjoyed watching the kids' excitement more than the attractions themselves. In fact, if daddy hadn't asked off work to join us, we might not have fed the giraffe, which was definitely the highlight of the trip. Family outings are the best! We are looking forward to returning once the bear exhibit opens.
