No Greater Joy

With a baby on my lap and a coffee mug in my hand, I read aloud our morning devotion over breakfast. A conversation ensued which eventually led to a wide eyed little girl telling me she wanted to ask Jesus into her heart. Initially, I was caught off guard, but her sincerity brought tears to my eyes. Her statement trumped any plans I had of getting dressed for the day.
I laid the squirmy baby down to play with his brother and pulled my precious daughter into my arms. After a wonderful discussion about our depravity and God's amazing grace, I knew she had a true understanding of the salvation plan and was ready to make a decision of faith. Following a sweet prayer, I witnessed a new kind of light and joy in her eyes.
She was eager to share her good news with her daddy, grandparents and Aunt Pam. After listening to all the excitement over the cell phone waves, we talked about how heaven was also rejoicing. We celebrated her spiritual birthday with Strawberry Torte and sang "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder, BELLE will be there." Such a special day! 3 John 1:4 kept coming to my mind. "I have no greater joy than this, to hear my children walking in the truth."

Belle was very proud of the Bible she received after meeting with our Pastor regarding her decision. Every time I see her name plastered on the cover, I smile at her zeal for the Lord. She conducts Bible studies for her brothers all over our house. She diligently copied a handwritten Bible for her friend, and she sings praises to God with all her heart. While singing "Onward Christian Soldiers," she holds high the cross shaped gun she invented for the hymn. When she noticed a book claimed the earth was millions of years old, she blacked out the sentence with marker. Belle has such passion, and I can't wait to see what God has in store for her. NO GREATER JOY!
