Both Hamilton and I are inept at drawing, so we haven't exactly been the best at encouraging our offspring to pursue it. During the first 6 weeks of Classical Conversations, however, the Fine Arts focus is drawing. Having never taken a drawing class myself, I think I learned as much as Belle. I even gained the confidence to draw (a little) with the aid of a step-by-step tutorial, and I actually enjoyed it! Belle seemed to like all of her art assignments, and she has even duplicated several at home. Although it still isn't a favorite pastime, I have noticed she draws more frequently after the instruction she received. Since it is unlikely I would have exposed her to drawing on my own at home, this is just another reason I am glad we are in a community like Classical Conversations!

I hear often about the "five elements of shape"

Final "Not a box"

My "Not a box" which is probably the best thing I have ever drawn (with the help of a tutorial!) And below are a few of the crafts John has brought home from his little class!
