Home away from home

Recently, Belle spent a couple days with her Grandparents who live a few hours away. It was the first time she has gone on a trip alone, and I think she needed the small stretch of her wings. Belle and Grammie played at the lake, went shopping and visited the Childrens Museum. Meanwhile, John and I were not sure what to do without sister around to keep us busy! We went on a few park trips, and I really enjoyed the rare one-on-one time to play with just my little man.

After 48 hours, we joined Belle for a relaxing weekend at the Turtle. As always, we had fun at the lake house swimming, boating, tubing and playing in the sand, but I noticed Belle was particularly interested in Grammie's garden and Grandpa's wood shop this time. After begging Grandpa to build something with her, they crafted a birdhouse together. I am truly glad she had a nice visit and made some lasting memories.

Joyful Heart reminder: If you are looking for a home away from home, look no farther than a Grandparents house.
