One of Belle's friend's moms stepped into my living room and exclaimed to her daughter, "Oh my! You need to help clean up!" I chuckled and explained we were very accustomed to cleaning up forts, considering they are built nearly every day around our house. Seriously, I can not begin to count the number of "forts", "tepees", "jails", "homesteads", and "houses" constructed by my kids in the last few months. With all the blankets and towels they use, I do have extra laundry and quite the mess at times, but we also have lots of memories. So much thought is put into each building, and I just love all the imaginative details!

The trash bags are actually a washing machine, dryer, and dishwasher

A lot of Belle's forts require no shoes and a foot bath before entering. In the picture above, she had just dipped John's feet in the water pail and is carrying him to the tepee. I find this amusing since the same consideration is not taken when they enter my house!?!

This secret fort had some type of trail you had to follow to find it!

John often begs to take his nap inside the forts. It doesn't usually work out too well, but occasionally he comes close to drifting...

I love the seasonal rug she made for this tepee and the pictures inside! It also had a functioning washing machine!

And this most recent homestead had a well right outside!
